OUR FUNDING

In 2007/08 the Foundation spent £2m implementing its mission.

The Foundation is funded primarily through an endowment from its benefactor Mr Wafic Rida Said.

The endowment is managed by professional portfolio managers. They are tasked with providing an income to the Foundation to fund its activities while preserving the real value of the endowment. In this way the Trustees seek to ensure that the Foundation's activities will continue at current (or higher) levels of funding in perpetuity. This freedom from the constraints of fundraising allows the Foundation to take a long term approach to its work and to plan for the future.
