2010/11 Scholarships

All scholarships for the academic year 2010/11 have now been awarded.

Annual Student Gathering and Prize Giving 2010

The Foundation's annual student gathering and prize giving ceremony took place from 9th to 11th April 2010 at Hunton Park in Hertfordshire. The gathering provides an opportunity for each year's UK-based students to get to know eachother and to have a short break from their studies.

The annual dinner and alumni prize giving ceremony was held on Saturday 10th April at the Institute of Directors in London. Chairman Mr Wafic Said presented the Foundation's annual Alumni Achievement Prize to Dr Adnan Al Wahaidi, Medical Director of the NGO Ard El Insaan, for his tireless efforts to improve the lives of Gaza's most vulnerable children. You can read more about Adnan's achievements here.

The prize is awarded to a former scholar who has made an outstanding contribution to his/her field and to development in the Middle East. The first Saïd Foundation Alumni Achievement Prize was awarded to Dr Wassim Maziak. Further details of Wassim's achievements can be found here.

2009/10 Partnerships

The Foundation is pleased to announce a new partnership with the British Lebanese Association (BLA) for the joint funding of two/three Lebanese students per year. In addition, our long-standing partnership with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (for Saïd Foundation/Chevening awards) will provide up to ten jointly-funded scholarships and our scheme with the Arab British Chamber of Commerce Foundation, which funds two or three students, will enter its second year.
