CHILD DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

The Foundation has run a Disability Programme in Syria since 1996 and works in close cooperation with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) and local non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

The programme aims to improve the lives of disabled children by:

  • Strengthening the professional capacity of disability practitioners and organisations
  • Raising awareness of disability in Syria at all levels of society
  • Developing a pool of national trainers in disability related fields
  • Supporting and / or providing services for children with disabilities (and their families) especially in marginalised communities
