Study for a Master's Degree in the UK

The Saïd Foundation is able to provide full or partial scholarships for masters' degrees at universities around the UK depending on the level of financial need or whether other grants are available to applicants. While we are able to provide full funding, we are also happy to provide matching funds.

The Foundation can also consider distance learning courses and shorter postgraduate courses at accredited UK academic institutions.

If you would like to apply for a scholarship, please read the information below carefully.

To apply for a Saïd Foundation Scholarship you need to:

1. have a good first degree

2. provide evidence of your proficiency in English

3. be under forty years of age

4. be Jordanian, Lebanese, Syrian or Palestinian (including Palestinians inside Israel) and be resident in the Middle East

5. demonstrate that your chosen course of study will be of use to your home country or the Middle East region

6. have at least two years' work experience

7. apply for a place on a course at one of the Foundation's partner universities, if your proposed course is offered there. For a list of our partner universities, please click here.

8. sign a binding undertaking to apply the skills and knowledge you have gained in one of the Foundation's target countries

Where to send your application You must return your application form to a British Council office in Amman, Beirut, East Jerusalem or Gaza by 31 January each year (see 'contact addresses' below). Syrian applicants should apply by email by 31 January to applications@saidfoundation.org. Full details can be found in the Guidance Notes for Applicants.

Study at Oxford and Cambridge There is a separate application procedure for Oxford and Cambridge Universities. Download guidance notes for Oxford and Cambridge applications Application forms for Saïd Foundation Oxford and Cambridge scholarships are available from the university websites: OXFORD UNIVERSITY, CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY. The deadline for Oxford applications is 21st January for most courses but please check the Oxford University prospectus. You must send your completed forms directly to the university (see university website for address). The deadline for Cambridge applications is 1st December. You must send your completed forms directly to the university (see university website for address). Applicants for all other universities should complete the Saïd Foundation application form.
