FURTHER EDUCATION PROGRAMME
Unfortunately, the Foundation's specialised training programme
has been suspended and no funding will be available until further
notice.
The Foundation's Further Education Programme (FEP) is able to provide
skills development grants for individuals working with children
and young people.
Grants are intended for individuals (and organisations applying
on behalf of individuals) in our target countries that are already
working with children and young people in health, disability, education
and risk reduction.
Training can take place locally, regionally, or exceptionally in
the UK and should clearly contribute to building capacity in one
or more of the Foundation's Child Development Programme (CDP) priority
areas.
Support will only be given to those that can demonstrate a direct
link between the proposed training and their work. Only organisations
or individuals that have already identified and costed the required
training should apply. Applications for part or joint funding are
welcome.
Application Criteria
Trainees should be:
· Individuals who are currently living and working in one
of the CDP's target countries and who are committed to remain.
· Affiliated to a reputable NGO or other organisation that
is child focused.
· Able to demonstrate the link between the proposed training
and their work.
· Sufficiently experienced with at least 2 years of relevant
employment.
· Not only interested in self-development but also the development
of the community and the organisation with which they are working.
(Priority will be given to applicants from organisations that are
known to the Foundation).
· Sufficiently qualified to undertake the proposed training.

care, mother and child health and preventive health but will consider
a range of training for health professionals.
· Risk Reduction - We prioritise individuals who are
working with marginalised youth, for example social workers, child
psychologists, therapists and counsellors.
· Management skills - the Foundation will consider
applications for grants that will clearly help to strengthen the
delivery of child development projects.
Duration:
· Priority is given to short-term training but the Foundation
may be able to support courses of up to one year's duration.
Certification:
· Preference will be given to training that leads to an accredited
diploma or certificate.
· In all cases those providing the training should be suitably
qualified.
Budget:
· A cost-effective budget for the training is required.
Reporting:
· All individuals who receive grants will be required to
report to the Foundation at intervals agreed prior to the start
of their training. Assessment will also be sought from the individuals

to help measure the impact of training received.
