The Saïd Foundation is delighted to announce that two new Rhodes scholars have been selected to receive prestigious Rhodes Scholarships for Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine.

After a highly competitive selection process, the two scholars selected are Marwan Safar Jalani from Syria and Ali Daher from Jordan. Marwan hopes to study for a MPhil in Comparative Government and Ali intends to build on his research career in mechanobiology. Both scholars will start their respective postgraduate programmes at the University of Oxford in Autumn 2020.

These outstanding individuals were chosen, amongst other things, for their strong drive and determination, and for their commitment to their respective home countries. You can read more about the Rhodes Trust here.

This is the fourth year the Saïd Foundation has partnered with the Rhodes Trust and Oxford University and we look forward to welcoming the new scholars to the UK in 2020.
