Applications for our 2020/21 Saïd Foundation Scholarships will be open at 09:00 (UK time) on Thursday 1 August 2019 and will close at 23.59 (UK time) on Friday 1 November 2019. Applications submitted before or after these dates will not be considered.
Online application system
Candidates apply for a Saïd Foundation Scholarship via our online application form. The form will work with most internet browsers including Google Chrome and Internet Explorer. It will automatically save as you progress through the application so you can save and return to your application at any time before the deadline. However, once you have submitted your application you will not be able to add any additional information so it is important that you check your answers carefully.
Candidates can only submit one application. If you accidentally withdraw your application, please note that it will not be possible to reinstate it.
Completing the application form
The application form comprises of several sections including;
A personal statement
Candidates are asked to write a personal statement of no more than 500 words. This is your chance to tell us your story in your own voice. It should be an overarching narrative for your application and should include your general interests and passions, your inspirations and why you have applied for a scholarship.
Your personal statement should be entirely your own work and you should not receive any external assistance or editing. In the application you will be asked to confirm that the entered information is your own work and that not external help was received.
Candidates are asked a series of questions based on our eligibility criteria. This includes leadership, work and voluntary experience, your course choices and your career plan. Most questions have a word limit of no more than 350 words so you may wish to prepare your answers before completing your application.
Please read the questions carefully and ensuring you answer them with as much detail as you can within the word limits.
As well as answering all of the questions, candidates must ensure they upload all of the required documents including three references, copies of transcripts and a valid passport or national ID.
If you have previously applied for a Saïd Foundation Scholarship but was not successful, you can re-apply again if you meet all of the eligibility criteria. You will need to start a brand new application and submit with all the required documentation.
